I was born and raised in the suburbs of Melbourne, in the south-east corner of Australia. Summers were hot and I took to surfing despite not knowing how to swim (I soon learnt). I then took to surfing in winter when it wasn't so hot - and then ended up ski-ing instead. I still surf and ski when I can as well as going hiking and climbing.

Music is a passion. I play guitar mainly, but also a bit of mandolin, ukulele and, more recently, the double bass, given that one is now standing in the living room. I also enjoy photography and try to tie all these pursuits together in video slideshows of hikes with a musical backing of my own making, which you can view on YouTube.
